Review - Druids Glen - June 22nd
Windiest day of the year!! One drive went 340 yards, next home it went 110!! At least we didn't get wet.
It was a pity about the conditions, but the course is in great condition. The rough and some of the bushes have been cut back and there are more bunkers there than the last time that I played there. It makes the course a little more forgiving, which I like. Greens were superb.
As one would expect, the service was fantastic. Many thanks to Ivan Robb and his team for everything. Hopefully we will get down there again this year - on a finer day!

Left the house at 7.15am!!! Blustery morning, rain was all around us, but we kept dry... the weather gods were with us, the golfing gods hadn't yet had their breakfast! We had a great match though - best stableford score on the hole kept the contest tight all the way round. At he halfway stage it was 20 points each.. so the golf wasn't bad. On the final hole, Robbie had a two putts from 7 inches to win the match - and he needed both of them.
The course itself is in good nic. It is in spring mode. The greens are poled and sanded at the moment, which is to be expected at this time of year. Looking forward to play it again later in the year. We didn't go in for food...... no time!!Review - The K Club - March 17th
I need a lesson!
I played the Smurfit course at the K Club. Another premium course. No expense spared this year. The course was a little damp, but that was to be expected after the torrential rain that we had the 4 days pervious. I had expected that it would be a lot worse. The greens are in super condition. Bunkers are great too (I saw a lot of them!)
Back to the day.... it started off great - a complimentary breakfast bap and a cup of tea. (Tucked a bap into the bag for the 9th :-) !) Free trolley and free basket of balls for the driving range too!! Great deal! First drive... perfect!! Then the wheels came off! 3 putted the par three... and that was the story of the day really. Couldn't make a putt. The only consoling note was that the rest of the "team" were just as bad... we finished last in the 4ball event.. on the positive side, the only way is up!!
Big thanks to Bill, Robbie and the K Club staff for helping us on the day.
If anyone can recommend a Pro for a lesson, please mail me at mailto:Mail@golfsocietyireland.com!

With 5 points on the front nine and 12 points on the back nine, you would think that I didn't enjoy my day - far from it!
Everything from the moment we arrived was perfect. The welcome, the food, the hospitality was perfect... the golf was shots played just didn't live up to that!! Couldn't hit a fairway... three putted from 8 inches!! 2 pars.
The course is in exceptional condition for this time of year. The fairways perfect... the rough, not too bad, the greens magnificent.... I would recommend this course to any fellow golfer. A supreme test. A super course.
